A journey that began in 2010
As the first Swedish tour operator to sign an agreement with Marcialonga in 2010, Björn Svensson laid the foundation for the position Sportivo Travel holds today.

Moena – sports, community, and Italian hospitality
Ever since 2010, when I first started organizing Marcialonga trips, I’ve chosen Moena as our base. A major advantage is that you can ski right down to the starting line. If you have a later start time, you don’t have to stand around waiting. Enjoy your breakfast and ski down to the Marcialonga starting line.
Another major advantage of Moena is that companions who are not participating in the race have a unique opportunity to follow the skiers along the course—first after the start, then as they pass through Moena again after the turnaround in Canazei, and on toward the finish line in Predazzo or Cavalese.
Moena is a charming alpine village located in the heart of Val di Fassa in the Italian Dolomites.
The village is renowned for its fairytale setting, authentic atmosphere, and proximity to nature and year-round activities.
With its traditional buildings, local delicacies, and warm residents, Moena is not only the starting point for the classic Marcialonga ski race—it is a destination in itself.
Here, Ladin culture, Italian hospitality, and the magnificent nature of the Dolomites meet, nestled in a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

At Sportivo Travel, you can book flights, a starting place, accommodation in Moena, bus transportation, and full service for one of the world's most iconic long-distance races. As soon as you arrive, you will notice how the atmosphere builds up to something bigger than the race itself. That is why Marcialonga is an experience that begins long before the starting gun goes off and continues even after you cross the finish line.
Marcialonga is a race with its own identity. It is partly about tradition and partly about the Italian skiing culture that permeates the entire valley. As you make your way through Moena, Canazei, and down towards Cavalese, you will be greeted by enthusiastic spectators and top-quality trails. Whether you choose the 70 km or 45 km route, you will be part of a journey where nature, the audience, and the atmosphere combine to create something truly unique.
All in all, it is the combination of environment, organization, and history that keeps skiers coming back year after year. Marcialonga is therefore not just a competition, but also a tradition that many see as a highlight of their training season.

Two distances
Marcialonga 70 km
The long main race starts in the charming alpine village of Moena, located in Val di Fassa. From there, the course winds through picturesque villages such as Canazei, Predazzo, Ziano, and Tesero, finishing in Cavalese, just over 1,000 meters above sea level. Along the way, you will be greeted by cheering crowds, beautiful views, and Italian passion—and, of course, the infamous finale: "la salita di Cascata," the final steep climb to the finish line.
This race is a true classic in Ski Classics and a must for anyone who wants to tick off one of the world's major long-distance races.
Marcialonga Light – 45 km distance
Start: both distances traditionally start from Moena, finishing in Predazzo, at the former railway station – surrounded by crowds of spectators and a festive atmosphere .
Participants follow the first part of the 70 km route through Val di Fassa and Val di Fiemme, passing through villages such as Vigo di Fassa, Pozza, and Canazei, and then turning back towards Moena and continuing on to Predazzo.
